Recess! Government Edition

As we all know the government is shutdown and many people are effected by this action but just how are you affected by this shutdown? To find out let's start with the bases.

Whats a government shutdown?

            According to the Committee For a Responsible Federal Budget, "a shutdown is when federal agencies must discontinue all non-essential discretionary functions until new funding legislation is passed and signed into law". (https://www.crfb.org/) Basically no money will be spent until Congress and the president come to terms for the new fiscal year. 

Let's break it down further.

            Congress has to pass 12 appropriation bills that must go through the president to be approved for the fiscal year. For this year's shutdown Orange proposes an absurd wall be built on the U.S. south boarder cutting off Mexico.  Wish the Natives would have done this for when those thug pilgrims illegally crossed the boarders....

Who's affected?               

• Social Security and Medicare (hasn't happened since 1996)
  
• Environmental Protection Agency (Hazardous waste, DRINKING WATER, chemical facilities) 
• Food and Drug Administration (YOUR FOOD)
• National Parks
• Government Assistance (Housing and food stamps)
• IRS
• Federal Employees
